God's Word vs Evolution

The theory of evolution states that in the beginning, there was a big bang, where "nothing" exploded, and created everything that exist today. This theory is known as the "Big Bang Theory". Till today, scientists are still trying to define "nothing", which they claim to have exploded in the beginning. If we take a closer look at this theory, we notice that it takes faith to believe in such a doctrine, and this is not an observable science. The word evolution has many meanings, only one of which is scientific:

  1. Cosmic Evolution - the origin of time, space and matter, i.e. Big Bang
  2. Chemical Evolution - the origin of higher elements from hydrogen
  3. Stellar and Planetary Evolution - the origin of stars and planets. Till now no one has ever seen a star form
  4. Organic Evolution - the origin of life
  5. Macro Evolution - changing from one kind into another
  6. Micro Evolution - the variations within kinds. Only this one has been observed

The above points from #1 to #5 is a religious view, and absolutely non-scientific. The only point which is observable is micro evolution, which is variations within kinds. The stream of science is a systematic enterprise that can be observed and tested, yet till now, there has not been a case where "nothing" has exploded. Science defines the universe in terms of time, space and matter, which is observable. The Bible says:

“In the beginning (time) God created the heaven (space) and the earth (matter) - Genesis 1:1

The theory of evolution fails to give an explanation on several levels. For instance, it fails to explain star formation. It states that the stars are formed when a previously existing star explodes. This is known as a super-nova explosion, which is an observable science. But the question is, where did the star that exploded come from? This brings us to a "chicken and an egg problem" as to which came first, the exploding star or the stars? The Bible says:

“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also” - Genesis 1:16

The theory of evolution fails to explain as to why some planets, like venus and uranus, and few spiral galaxies are spinning backwards. According to the theory of evolution, this should not be the case, as all planets theoretically have to be spinning in the same direction. Yet, we see few planets and galaxies spinning in the opposite direction. The Bible says:

“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork” - Psalm 19:1

In other words, the reason the Lord has made these planets and galaxies to spin backwards is so that, man would know that this is scientifically impossible, and will realize that this is the Lord's handiwork.

The theory of evolution states that all living creatures came from an amoeba (a single celled organism), and upon constant improvement and death from one kind of organism, they evolved into higher and more complex organisms, and finally man emerged. In other words, the theory states that death existed before man, and it was death that brought man into the world. The Bible clearly states that man brought death into the world, and death, was a result of man's sin:

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” - Romans 5:12

The order in which the theory of evolution explains the existence of life is as follows:

  1. Big Bang
  2. Stars, sun and moon
  3. Land
  4. Water
  5. Aquatic creatures, then land creatures, then birds which evolved from dinosaurs
  6. Monkeys which evolved into man

The order in which the Bible explains creation is as follows:

  1. Day 1- Light (Genesis 1:3)
  2. Day 2- Water (Genesis 1:6)
  3. Day 3- Land (Genesis 1:9)
  4. Day 4- Sun, moon and stars (Genesis 1:16)
  5. Day 5- God created water creatures first, and then the birds (Genesis 1:20)
  6. Day 6- Land animals (Genesis 1:24), and finally Man was created in God's image (Genesis 1:26), from red earth (Adam in Hebrew means "red earth")

When we compare the order by which the scientists claim to explain the existence of life, with the Biblical order, we notice that its completely different. Evolution theory states that the stars were created first, whereas the Bible says they were created on day 4 for signs and seasons (Genesis 1:14). If we notice the Biblical order of creation, we notice that "Light" was created on day 1. When we continue to read the book of Genesis, we notice that the Lord created the sun, the moon and the stars on day 4. If that was so, then what was the "Light" that was created on day 1?

If we read Genesis 1:3 in the Hebrew text, the word "let" is the word "hayah". This word is not in reference to creation, but rather permission, meaning "let light come forth". The "Light" that came forth was not a physical light, but rather it was the presence of God. Apostle John confirms this in his Gospel when he said:

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” - John 1:3-5

Also. our Lord Jesus calls Himself as the "Light of the World":

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” - John 8:12

As believers in Christ, since we are sealed with the Holy Spirit when we believe in the Gospel according to 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Jesus calls us the light of the world. Since we, as believers in Christ, carry the presence of God through the Holy Spirit who is sealed within us:

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” - Matthew 5:14-16

Our Lord Jesus, when He made the above statement in Matthew 5:14-16, the Holy Spirit had not yet come. Today, as believers in Christ, we have the Holy Spirit within us, through which our Lord Jesus is continuously shepherding us in our day to day life. This is why the Lord will never leave us nor forsake us, no matter what our situation is.

Above all, the theory of evolution is popular among the atheists because, they do not want to be under God's leadership, as being under God means, atheists cannot do whatever they feel like doing. The theory of evolution cannot explain where our morals and principles come from, and neither can it explain on what basis can one tell right from wrong. The Bible says:

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more” - Hebrews 8:10-12

Today, in the "New Covenant", our Lord Jesus is our High Priest. Under this covenant, we are washed by the Blood of Jesus, and because of His precious Blood, the Lord says, "He will be merciful to our unrighteousness, and our sins and our iniquities will He remember no more". The theory of evolution is completely a man made religion, as it takes faith to believe that "nothing created everything". Many people have ended up committing crime because they believed that they came from monkeys, and it is all about "survival of the fittest". On the other hand, many criminals have ended up repenting because of God's Word which speaks about God's love for them, and have developed walking in a lifestyle based on Bible values and principles upon realizing the Lord's Grace.

Wrong beliefs will produce wrong living, whereas right beliefs will produce right living.

The Bible tells us that God is a righteous judge, and also a loving Father. If God had ignored Adam and Eve when they sinned, then that would make Him an unrighteous judge. On the other hand, if God killed Adam and Eve when they sinned, and started a new creation of man, then that would not show Him to be a loving Father. When our Lord Jesus hung on the cross, God judged all our sins in Jesus's body and demonstrated God to be a righteous judge. It was supposed to be us hanging on the cross and suffering God's righteous judgement, but instead of us, Jesus willingly gave Himself up to be the Lamb for our sins. God did not ignore our sins, but rather judged all our sins in Jesus's body. This way God demonstrated Himself to be a righteous judge. On the other hand, God demonstrated Himself to be a loving Father by sending His only Begotten Son, Jesus, while we were still in sin, to die for us on the cross. We can receive this gift of God's "Grace" through our "Faith" in His Son Jesus Christ, who is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, that whoever believes Him will not perish but have eternal life. Above all Jesus said:

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” - John 5:24
